La guardería de Casa Latina se llama así en honor a Rigoberta Menchú, una mujer maya quiché que en 1992 llegó a ser la mujer más joven en recibir el Premio Nobel de la Paz por sus incansables campañas sobre los derechos humanos, y trabajar para garantizar el acceso a la educación en las comunidades indígenas.
